Person
Roberts, William (1728–1797)
Roberts (he often spelled it 'Robarts') was a native of Cornwall who became a traveling preacher in 1750. He left the itinerancy after a few years, settling into a career in business in Tiverton, where he supported the Methodist work in this capacity. See Atmore, Memorial, 346–56; and Pawson, Letters, 3:144.
